In this week's episode, Bri chats with dope individual and good friend Marissa Confair. Marissa is the founder and Chief Creative of her sneaker and streetwear customization company, eMCee Kicks. Originally from northeastern Pennsylvania, Marissa went to college for fashion design at Philadelphia University, (and is a a BIG Eagles fan). Starting out, she developed a line of clothing after college and sold her designs at a small boutique in PA. She then moved out to NYC the following year with big dreams of becoming a successful designer. She spent years doing nail art for editorials and fashion week shows, and also worked for the design department of BRGuest Hospitality Group for a bit. As she grew in the industry, she competed in the NEWH Product Runway Show and came in 2nd for her "Mexican Wedding Dress" made from artistic tile. Following this accomplishment, Marissa really began to carve her path and took her undying love of hip hop and combined it with her love of fashion to create eMCee Apparel in 2015. Here, she started out customizing hats and moved into apparel, and then sneakers in 2018. In 2019 Marissa brought on her business partner and they have been expanding the business into other areas since.
